Fin da subito, dalla messa in conoscenza al pubblico della sua esistenza, tramite la conferenza stampa tenutasi a Lecco alla fine del 2019 presso il Palazzo Falck di Lecco, il Cristo di Lecco trovò una immediata attenzione da parte sia del pubblico in generale che dei media, anche specializzati nel settore dell'arte, sia locali che nazionali: attenzione che non appena venne palesata la possibile attribuzione in paternità alla mano del grande Maestro Toscano Messer Leonardo Da Vinci nell'ottobre del 2020, assunse rilievo, anche nel essere paragonato alle maggiori opere di Leonardo quali la Gioconda, l'Autoritratto di Torino e in particolare il Salvator Mundi, a livello internazionale toccando letteralmente in conoscenza tutti e cinque i continenti.

وقد تعاظم هذا الاهتمام عندما طُرحت، في أكتوبر/تشرين الأول 2020، فرضيّةُ إسناد العمل إلى يد المعلّم التوسكاني العظيم ليوناردو دا فينشي؛ إذ اكتسب حينها بُعدًا أوسع، لا سيّما مع مقارنته بأبرز أعمال ليوناردو مثل الموناليزا، واللوحة الذاتية في تورينو، وعلى وجه الخصوص سالفاتور موندي. وقد بلغ هذا الصدى نطاقًا دوليًا، ليمتدّ فعليًا إلى جميع القارّات الخمس.
